Spring is in the air and it is a time of change and anticipation. Have you ever heard the expression “April showers brings May flowers?” I love this because it focuses on the positive of snowy and rainy days.
Today it is a beautiful day outside and I have commented about this to most of my patients. Only about 20% of them agreed with me and were grateful. The rest complained about the weather we have been having for the last 2 weeks instead of being grateful for what is present today, and grateful for the flowers we will have in a month or so.
I wonder how much of this I do and we do. How much do we downgrade the good instead of being grateful for it? How often do we look at good seasons of life and ask when is it going to end, because surely this will not last forever? How often, …
