This morning while I was sipping my coffee and aimlessly surfing the web, I came across this video. Now I am not sure how many have even heard of the Jimmy V foundation, a foundation for cancer research, but each year during the ESPY awards they honor a person in the sports world that has over come an obstacle in their life through perseverance.

People like Kay Yow who helped take her team to the NCAA sweet 16 after having chemo for breast cancer. Stuart Scott, a sports announcer on ESPN, who was diagnosed with cancer during his appendectomy. He went into remission but they cancer came back and he continued to fight for another 6 months before he lost his battle. Jim Kelly, a quarterback for the Bills for 10 years, he took his team to the Super Bowl 4 times and survived oral squamous cell carcinoma 3 times in 5 years. And now this gentleman, Rob Mendez. Born without limbs, confined to a wheel chair with an absolute love of football. His message… find a way. He knew he would never play football be he also knew that he wasnt going to let that keep from the game he loved so much. Last year he was named head coach of a high school team and ended the year with an 8-2 record.
