So here’s another daily tip from your friendly local dermatologist.

We know we need to drink water, and I would say the vast majority of us don’t drink enough water. So here’s a hint to know if you’re drinking enough water. If you’re thirsty, you’re not drinking enough water. By the time that our thirst mechanism kicks in, we are already dehydrated, and we need to drink more.

Another clue is if your urine is a yellow or dark yellow color. That will tell you that you’re not drinking enough water. Now water is vital for life. We’re made up of over 70% water. So we need to be drinking water all day long, every day. And I would encourage you to drink a good source of water. That does not mean bottled water by the way, guys, that’s just causing problems for our environment.

So good water, tap water, that’s filtered, artesian water, whatever you do, drink a lot of it. If you look closely at your skin, your skin will actually show signs of dehydration, just like every other organ in your body will as well. Drink often, drink so that you don’t have any thirst, and enjoy your day.

Dr. Reagan Anderson is a local dermatologist from Colorado Springs.
