Here’s another daily tip from your local dermatologist.

Let’s talk about nail polish, because the vast majority of nail polishes out there, have substances in them that are known to cause cancer. Now it doesn’t mean that you will get cancer, it just means that these substances are known to be risk factors for developing cancer later on in life.

Now fortunately there’s some amazing websites out there that you can enter what you’re using, and see if there are cancer-causing agents in them. And if they are, then find another product out there that doesn’t have these cancer-causing agents in them. When you start looking at what’s in nail polish? You’ll be amazed at what is allowed to be in them. Fortunately we have good options, so find one, and paint away.

Dr. Reagan Anderson is a local dermatologist from Colorado Springs.
