Colorado Springs Dermatologist Dr. Reagan Anderson

Video Transcript

All right, so here’s another daily do from your friendly local dermatologist!

I want to thank you for joining me on this journey. We’ve done a year, Monday through Friday, not including the holidays, of content by an expert on Dermatology and sometimes I go outside of dermatology because I think it is all interconnected. So thank you for joining me. We did these videos to honor your intelligence. I’m not asking you to become a dermatologist and at the end of this year check, I’m a dermatologist. No, I’m trying to inform you. I’m trying to let you know about your skin’s health and perhaps other topics, too because I value your intelligence. So, thank you. This next year, we’re gonna kind of be recycling a lot of the content from this year because the topics, they probably aren’t going to change that much, but we’re also going to be shifting. I’m gonna now start shifting into the realm of what you can do about our healthcare system. I have a book coming out called “Universal Death Care and the Age of Entitlement”, and in it I chronicle my experiences of being a Special Forces doctor in Iraq, being a civilian doctor in America and being a veteran getting care at the Veterans Administration or care I should say, at the Veterans Administration and It’s 90 percent story. So I don’t think you’re going to be bored and it’s about 10 percent public health or explaining to you why our health care system is how it is and what we can do as an individual and as a society to fix that. Now there’s a lot of things that work really well in medical care in America and there’s a lot of things that don’t So, please I’m not throwing out the baby with the bathwater. I’m just saying let’s start focusing, in a non-partisan way, about how we can make our health care system better so that as individuals we can get the care we need and as a society, as a collective, we can be as helpful as possible. Thank you for joining me on this journey,. I’m not gonna stop being a doctor. I’m not gonna close my clinic down. You know, none of that is in the works, but I can’t stand by anymore. I’ve had enough. You, the patient, need an advocate, but that advocate needs to educate first because we need each other. Change has to happen by hearing everybody’s voice and making a system that works for everybody without bankrupting the system. So join me on this next journey, this next year. Let me know if there are medical topics that you want me to cover and if they’re within my wheelhouse I absolutely will, but we’re gonna start shifting into what we can do as a collective to take back control, take it away from partisan nonsense and make it a health care system that works for everybody. Thank you for this last year. I look forward to the next.
