Helen Keller became deaf and blind at the age of 19 months. She went on to become a remarkable woman who learned to speak even though she couldn’t hear, learned to read lips with her fingers, became a lecturer, and was the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelors of Arts degree. So, she knew something about struggle and triumph against all odds. When a person who has done what Helen Keller did speaks about what it takes to overcome obstacles, we’d be wise to listen.
