Last week as I pulled up to the office an awful pungent smell was very prevalent. As I walked towards the office, the smell got stronger and stronger. Finally, as I got to the construction zone I realized what it was, the construction porta potty was being cleaned and emptied. As I approached the parking lot out popped a gentleman who was cleaning the sewage and he welcomed me with a genuine smile and hello and he was bobbing his head to music coming out of his work truck. We exchanged pleasantries and he wished me a good day.
Now here is a guy who literally has a crappy job, and at 7:30am he was happy as could be and was welcoming and smiling. I told a few staff members about the encounter and they too said he was smiling and pleasant. He definitely brightened my morning and all it took was a smile and hello.
