So here’s another daily tip from your friendly local dermatologist in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

So a lot of times people ask me, “Well what about the mask that you get for your face, and you can get those over the counter, you can get them online, and you usually put them on, you let them sit for half an hour to an hour or whatever. The directions are then you rinse them off. Are they good?” And the simple answer is, I don’t really know. I mean there’s thousands of them out there.

So here are a couple basic tips to help you find one to try and see if it works for you. Number one, don’t spend a lot of money. Alright, there’s stuff out there that costs hundreds of dollars. Let’s go to the Environmental Working Group. Let’s go to their website. It’s, and you can search for some masks there that have good ingredients in them. Pick one or two of those, and try them out. Tip number two, once you try them out, see how your skin looks and feels. It shouldn’t be all red and blotchy and irritated. It should feel soothed. It should feel refreshed, moisturized, and it should look that way as well. So if you get done with the mask and it feels like the Sahara Desert, and it’s cracked and red and dry, it’s probably not the right one for you.

So let’s do a little trial and error with masks that have good ingredients in them, and see how they do for your skin.
