Video Transcript:

So here’s another daily tip from your friendly local dermatologist in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

So what’s the difference between Vaseline and Aquaphor? And I get this question a lot, and whether we’re talking about putting it on your lips for dry skin, or putting it on a wound after a surgical procedure, the answer is not much, except for Vaseline is a lot less expensive than Aquaphor. But they both are wonderful at protecting the skin and keeping the skin moisturized so that you can heal dry cracked areas, and so that you can protect a wound while it’s healing, it’s really important.

Now Vaseline is a lot less expensive than Aquaphor, so if you’re going to be putting it on a wound, please make sure it’s a new container. Don’t use the container that’s been passed down from generation to generation, and now you’re putting it on a fresh wound. Splurge the extra dollar and get a new tube of Vaseline and use it.
