I get up early, really early. The alarm rings at 4am and I am out of bed by 405 at the latest. I go to the kitchen and get my breakfast ready with some celery juice. Then I work out for 30 minutes and this is not an easy workout. This is a sweat soaked butt kicker. Then I make a shake that I drink on the way to work. It consists of an avocado, blueberries, banana, chia seeds, and a vegan protein powder. I shower and get ready for the day and am out the door by 545am at the latest, drinking my shake and listening to a podcast that gives me substantive things to focus on and think about for the rest of the day. When I get to work I spend 5 minutes focusing on how great the day will be and how many people we will help. Then, I usually clean my desk and start working. At lunch I have a pre-made salad with nothing but good ingredients. The dressing is Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, and spices. Dinner is usually something very healthful and plant based. I do not engage in gossip in life or in social media. I help as many people as I can as often as I can in as many ways as I can think of.
So what is my point? Who cares? Well, the last quarterly reviews had a very consistent comment that went something like this “I have no idea how Dr. Anderson does everything he does.”
Well, I am able to do everything I do, and do it in the manner I do it, because I take care of myself as best I can from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep – every single day. I create my life. I feed my body well. I exercise my mind and body. And trust me, there is not a single day that I am thrilled to wake up at 4am and get the morning started. Not a one. But, within 5 minutes of being awake I know that what I am doing is worth it, will dictate my day and will allow me to help countless people by making their lives better and healthier. It is worth it.
