Here’s another daily tip from your friendly local dermatologist!
Okay Fordyce spots, Fordyce spots are basically sebaceous glands or oil glands that are occurring a little bit more visibly in the areas in which they naturally occur. So you can get them underneath the lip, you can get them in the genital areas, you can get them other areas. Now It’s important to see your local dermatologist to make sure that this is actually just oil glands or sebaceous glands instead of other things because Fordyce spots can mimic warts and they can mimic a lot of other things and you want the right diagnosis. Because if you have an oil gland that’s normal and you are diagnosed with the wart and they start treating those. Well that’s going to be unnecessary treatment. So, please talk to your local dermatologist. Now if you don’t like the cosmetic appearance of these we do have different procedures and products that can lessen them. So please talk to your local dermatologist and find out what’s right for you.
Take a look at your skin and call your Dermatologist if you see anything new, changing, or growing!
