So here’s another daily tip from your friendly local dermatologist.
Is it possible to prevent aging and the signs of aging in your skin? And the answer is absolutely. So now we can’t make you look like you’re twenty until you’re a hundred and twenty, but we can sure make you look a lot younger than you are. And the keys to this are the same keys to every aspect of health care.
Number one: Eat well. Lots of fruits and vegetables. If you eat well, and you have a low inflammatory diet, then you’re not going to have as much inflammation in your skin, and inflammation is one of the main things that make us age prematurely. It not only makes our brain age, and our hearts age, and our lungs age, it makes our skin age prematurely. So lots of fruits and vegetables. Not a lot of dairy, not a lot of animal products. We know how to eat well. We just have to do it.
Number two: Drugs and alcohol. It destroys everything. So please, live a healthy lifestyle.
Number three is exercise. If you exercise every day for half an hour, after consulting with your local physician, it will make everything, from brain function down to feet function work better, and we know that intuitively. Our bodies have to move. The orthopedic surgeons, “Say motion is lotion for the joints.” So it doesn’t matter what organ we’re talking about, the more you move, the better you will do.
Stay out of the sun. Sun prematurely ages you. Don’t smoke. Smoking prematurely ages you. And lastly, if there’s little things that you want to adjust it or tweak, or want to just have a good prevention regimen, talk to your local dermatologist, talk to your local plastic surgeon, because we can give you some great prescription and non-prescription remedies that can help you look younger, longer.
One thing I will caution you on though is, if you go into a lot of beauty stores, and you look at a package that promises you the sun and moon for anti-aging, chances are it’s just gonna be a pretty box. If you do not have a doctor able to prescribe the medication for you, then they’re not gonna have any active ingredients in the box. Makes sense for active ingredients, you need to be able to prescribe. And so, don’t spend a lot of money on a pretty box. Get stuff that works.
