Checking Skin for Acne and Other Anomalies

The Importance Of Skin Cancer Self Examinations

Do you know how to perform a self-exam skin check? The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends doing a self-exam every month to look for signs of skin cancer. The best time to examine your skin is immediately after a shower or bath. Check your skin in a well-lit room using a full-length mirror and a hand-held mirror. It’s best to begin by learning where your birthmarks, moles and blemishes are and what they usually look and feel like, so you can better practice skin cancer prevention.

If you believe you may have skin cancer, call to schedule a skin exam with one of our board certified dermatologists.
