I have started something new this last week with fairly drastic results.
As soon as I wake up in the morning I immediately start thinking about how the day will go and I only allow myself to think of positive things while there is a smile on my face. I project that the day will be filled with love, kindness, joy, helpfulness to others, forgiveness for myself and for others, spreading goodwill to others, making the world a better place on decision at a time, being the change I wish to see in the world, … After about 2-3 minutes I will get out of bed and start the day. What has been really interesting is that starting the day like this has been having good impact on the entire day and my days are going better and better. At the end of the night I am also listing a couple of things that I am grateful for that happened during the day and my sleep has been better.
Perhaps there is something to this mindfulness and gratitude stuff!? Give it a shot. It is free and might just make you smile a little more while impacting this planet in a positive way.
