The year is already almost two months old and we are only 306 days away from Christmas! How many of you made new goals for yourself this year? How have you done? Some studies show that only 64% of new goals last longer than a month, and only 36% last more than six months. Normally when the New Year rolls around people make lots of goals and say things they want to change or accomplish. Well it is time to check in and evaluate how you are doing. My goals this year were new experiences, learning new things, and eating better. I have enjoyed learning yoga and meditation and what it does for your mind and body. I feel good after I leave a session and energized about life.
Are you doing the things you said you would or are you coming up with excuses as to why you can’t do it? Are you telling yourself that you don’t have enough time? Well make the time, get up earlier, turn the TV and computer off, walk away from your phone and do things for yourself. It is important to take care of yourself. You can’t help others if you don’t take care of yourself first.
Are you lacking a game plan? Well take some time to shift gears and write down a new plan or revise your plan, and put in front of yourself where you can see it every day, what you focus on grows.
Are you falling back to old patterns? Stay committed to the goal and keep reminding yourself why you are reaching for your goals. Why did you set the goal in the first place? Don’t let old habits hold you back from what you want to accomplish. If you set your mind to it you can do just about anything you want.
Take a moment to evaluate where you are and what you want to accomplish and keeping pushing for the positive change, or revise your plan to reach what you want to accomplish.
Happy Friday and have an outstanding weekend!
