So here’s another daily tip from your friendly local dermatologist!
So what do I think of proactive and this has been a question that I’ve been asked a number of times. Now I will say that the original founders of Proactiv were brilliant. They redefined an industry, and they really taught people how to be proactive with their acne to help prevent it. So not just treat but prevent and I really applaud them for this because it was a breakthrough in acne treatment. Now they did come out with some products that I think have some decent active ingredients. If they work for you, go for it, but it’s kind of expensive guys. And I think you can get most of these active ingredients over-the-counter by going to Walgreens and just doing a little comparative pricing and shopping. I also think that Proactiv will work for a lot of mild cases of acne, but I don’t think it’s very good for the moderate or severe. And to be fair, It’s not what it’s designed for. It’s designed for the mild, maybe the mild to moderate acne which the vast majority of people have. So I’m not slamming the product. In fact, I’m giving the founders of it two thumbs up. You guys really redefined an industry and good on you. Just think it’s a little expensive. I do think that you can probably get most of these ingredients for a lot less money over the counter with watching these types of videos and getting educated.
