Here’s another daily tip from your local dermatologist.

Okay, we all experience dry skin from time to time, the last thing you want to do is wake up in the middle of the night scratching yourself until you bleed because you’re so dry. So, let’s talk about moisturizers.

Tip #1: You do not need your moisturizer to smell good. All fragrance does is irritate your skin more. So unless they’re very natural scents, please get a fragrance free lotion.

Tip #2: Find a lotion that has ceramides in it. Ceramides we naturally produce in our body, but as we get wiser through the years, we, well, we just can’t make them as well. So we need to replenish them with the good lotion. So find a good lotion with ceramides in it.

Tip #3: After you bathe, when your skin is still damp, that’s the ideal time to apply your lotions, or your moisturizers, because it helps seal in some of that moisture. Now some of my favorite moisturizers are the CeraVe brands, the Cetaphil brands, and the Vana Cream brands. They’re all over the counter, you can get them everywhere, but you got to use them for them to work.

Because Dermatologists treat more than just skin cancer!
