So here’s another daily tip from your friendly local dermatologist!

All right, so let’s talk about wet wipes, because a lot of people use wet wipes, especially on their bottom after using the bathroom because they think it’s more sanitary and better, and I know I’m not going to dissuade the people who use wet wipes from using them, but maybe we can find better brands. You do not want your wet wipes to have any sorts of chemicals in them, because if they have chemicals in them you could create a situation where we have a raging allergic contact dermatitis around your bottom and that is no fun. So please, if you’re going to use wet wipes, follow two basic rules. Go to the Environmental Working Group and look up every single ingredient in the wet wipes that you want to use to make sure that they are okay to use. The less chemical is the better and preferably if you can just simply use water on a washcloth that gets washed all the time, that’s probably better than anything chemically based, and then the second tip is you need to squat down on the ground afterwards. So you’re fully squat so that the air can get in between your butt cheeks so that that area can get completely dry, because if you’re putting a lot of moisture there and then you’re standing up right away and your butt cheeks closed and all you’re doing is trapping moisture in between your butt cheeks, then you’re gonna have problems. You’re gonna have molds growing or fungus’ growing or bacteria growing or just simply irritation. So I don’t like wet wipes, but if you’re going to use them, please follow the two tips that we just gave you.
