Create Your Day

What is our WHY?

We know WHAT we do – take care of patients who have problems with their skin, hair, or nails. That is WHAT Dermatologists do.

We know HOW we do Dermatology – patient visits, interactions, education, empathy, compassion, procedures, … That is HOW we do it.

What is our WHY? This is an individual question that all of us need to answer and perhaps it is a question we need to consider in every aspect of our lives because INTENTIONS DO MATTER. None of us are perfect and no act we ever perform will be perfect. But, if our intentions are set in a good place, our chances of living successful, purposeful, and productive lives will be greatly increased. Our chances of being proud of our actions will be more likely than not. And the people and souls who we can help live lives unencumbered by diseases of the skin, hair or nails will be a source of everlasting and justified pride.

Please spend a few minutes asking yourself today and everyday “what is my why” for everything you do. I think you will be surprised how this simple question can literally change your life.

For us as a clinic our Core Values can help guide us in answering this WHY question. They are:

  • 1) Do The Right Thing
  • 2) Do The Best You Can
  • 3) Show Others You Care

If we keep the above 3 Core Values in mind I think that this simple question of WHY will become an easy question of HOW and WHAT for everything we do. The path for the WHAT, the HOW, and the WHY might not be an easy one and the more successful you are at designing your life and helping others the more resistance you might meet. But, have the courage to “Be The Change You Wish To See In The World.” Mahatma Ghandi. Because, it is simply worth it every day, every time, and in every life we help.

Remember that the quality of questions we ask ourselves will correlate with the quality of life we create for ourselves and others on a daily basis. This year, I look forward helping countless people while growing our WHY with all of you!
